This site publishes numbers about other people’s money and other people’s deaths. If one of them is wrong, we want to know before you do anything else with it.

Corrections are checked against the source and either fixed or removed. See how the numbers are built for what is sourced and what is modeled.

If you are featured on this site

Every case on the cases page comes from a fundraiser the family posted or an interview they gave a reporter. If that is you and you want your case removed or corrected, say so here and it will be done. You do not have to explain why.

What we cannot do

  • We cannot give medical advice, or tell you whether to accept a treatment.
  • We cannot negotiate your bill, appeal your denial, or contact your insurer for you.
  • We cannot tell you what a specific hospital will charge you. Ask that hospital for their price in writing.

If you are facing a bill you cannot pay, most nonprofit hospitals are legally required to run a financial assistance programme. Ask their billing office for the application.
